Info About Waxing
What Is Waxing?

Waxing is a semi-permanent hair removal method that extracts hair from the root using a sticky, warm, or cold wax applied to the skin. The wax adheres to the hair, which is then swiftly removed in the opposite direction of growth, allowing for smoother skin that lasts for 3 to 6 weeks.
Am I a Good Candidate for Waxing?

A good candidate for waxing is anyone looking for long-lasting semi-permanent hair removal (3–6 weeks). Particularly those with coarse, thick, or fast-growing hair who want to avoid daily shaving or other removal methods.
Ideal candidates have at least 1/4 inch of hair growth and are prepared for temporary, manageable discomfort during treatment.

How Do I Prepare For a Waxing Session?

Pain Management is key; consider taking ibuprofen or any over-the-counter pain medication 30 minutes before, as recommended. Pain-wise, the first time is usually the most uncomfortable, but it gets easier with consistent, regular sessions.
Make sure to discontinue using Retin-A or retinol 3-5 days before; wait 12 months after using Accutane to begin waxing safely.
Hygiene is very important before and after a wax. Make sure the area is clean the day of, but do not exfoliate the area the same day as your service. Exfoliating gently 1-2 days before is great and beneficial for your wax, but not on the day of the service. It can make a huge difference and can help a lot when looking for a smooth, seamless waxing session.
Try avoiding booking 2 days before/during your menstrual cycle, as skin is more sensitive during this time.
Wearing loose, comfortable clothing to minimize friction also makes waxing much more comfortable.

How Do I Take Care of Post-Treatment?

There are several different things that can make you more comfortable and good for your post-treatment skin.
Heat and friction can irritate the area. Avoid hot baths, saunas, tanning, the sun, or pools for 24-48 hours. If you are going to be out in the sun, try to avoid exposing the area directly to the sun and use a high SPF sunscreen on the area. Avoid tight clothing, heavy lotions, and tanning as well.
Hygiene is very important before and after a wax. Make sure the area stays clean post treatment. Avoid using deodorant immediately after underarm waxes. Keeping the area clean, cool, and hydrated for 24–48 hours to avoid irritation is recommended. Immediately after, you can use soothing, fragrance-free products like Aloe Vera, Witch Hazel, or Bacitracin Ointment if needed.
Try to avoid intense exercise immediately after treatment. If you experience ingrown hairs, gently exfoliate 2-3 days before your service date, and start a regular, gentle exfoliation routine 2 days after your appointment.

You can be any age to get waxed, but clients under the age of 14 and those 70 and older should consult a doctor before beginning treatment.
