Electrolysis Services
Using our high-powered electrolysis machine, we insert the probe into the hair follicle, administering heat to the root and destroying the blood supply to the hair, thereby killing the possibility of regrowth.

Info About Electrolysis
What is Electrolysis?

Electrolysis is the only FDA-approved method for permanent hair removal. The process for electrolysis starts with a tiny probe inserted into the hair follicle to deliver electric currents to destroy the root of the hair, preventing regrowth. It works on all skin types, textures, colors, and hair types, regardless of color or thickness. You can get treatment anywhere on your face or body where the hair is visible and unwanted. Consistent sessions are recommended for progressive treatment.

What are the different types of electrolysis?

Galvanic Electrolysis (Direct Current)
-
Known as "true" electrolysis, it is highly effective for stubborn hair but is the slowest method, often used for treating deep or distorted follicles. This method uses direct current (DC) to trigger a chemical reaction in the hair follicle, creating sodium hydroxide (lye) to destroy the hair root.
Thermolysis (Alternating Current)
-
Thermolysis uses high-frequency alternating current (AC) to produce heat (electrocoagulation) that cauterizes and destroys the root of the hair (dermal papilla). It is generally faster than galvanic and less painful, making it ideal for treating larger areas. Variations include "Flash" (short, high-intensity) and "Manual" (longer, lower-intensity).
The Blend Method (Dual Modality)
-
Blend combines galvanic (DC) and thermolysis (AC) currents simultaneously or sequentially in the same probe. It combines the chemical destruction of Galvanic with the heat destruction of Thermolysis, enhancing effectiveness. The heat speeds up the chemical reaction, making it very effective for thick or curved/ curled hair.

Am I A Good Candidate for Electrolysis?

Electrolysis is an ideal, permanent hair removal solution for nearly anyone, regardless of skin tone or hair color, including blonde, gray, red, and white hair. Unlike laser hair removal, it does not rely on pigment, making it safe for all skin tones and hair colors.
It is best suited for individuals seeking long-term removal of unwanted hair on the face, body, or sensitive areas, particularly those with hormonal imbalances like PCOS. Electrolysis is also Ideal for individuals with PCOS, menopause, or thyroid conditions causing excessive hair growth. This method is also great for those with skin too sensitive for waxing or shaving, or tattooed skin.
Electrolysis is great for all ages after puberty, and people over the age of 80 should consult their primary doctor before continuing treatment. These treatments are great for everyone, regardless of anatomy, sex, or gender.
Some things to consider before beginning electrolysis are that you need to commit to your progress. Electrolysis requires patience for multiple, consistent sessions for good progress to kill the growth cycle.
Individuals with active skin infections, pacemakers, or prone to keloid scarring should consult a doctor first. Those on blood thinners or recent facial cosmetic procedures should consult a professional as well before starting treatment.
Is Electrolysis Really Permanent?

Yes! Electrolysis is the only method of permanent hair removal, and also the only FDA-approved method for permanently removing hair. Unlike laser, which is permanent hair reduction, Unwanted hair can be removed permanently using tried and true electrolysis methods that have improved the lives of countless people! Once electrolysis eliminates regenerative cells, there is no possible way for hair to return and reproduce. Leaving your skin hair free and damage-free.

How Do I Prepare For My Appointment?

To prepare for electrolysis, there are several things you can do to ensure your sessions go smoothly.
Hydrated follicles make treatment more effective and comfortable, so drinking plenty of water before your sessions always helps.
Stop all waxing, sugaring, tweezing, plucking, epilating, or using any hair removal creams or powders immediately. Make sure you stop these hair removal methods at least 2–3 weeks before your appointment. This will ensure the hair is in the optimal hair phase and length to treat. You can shave or trim the hair 2-4 days before your appointment to allow for growth.
Arrive with clean skin in the area we are treating; makeup-free, deodorant-free skin is optimal. Avoid caffeine and alcohol, which can heighten sensitivity, sun exposure, and tanning for at least 48 hours before treatment for best results.
If you are using retinol or any harsh chemical exfoliants or chemical peels on the area, cease those methods 7–10 days before treatment.
For pain management and discomfort, you may take an anti-inflammatory (like Advil), or over-the-counter acetaminophen and ibuprofen 30–60 minutes before, or apply a topical numbing cream. If you experience moderate to high pain, you may need to consult your doctor for different pain management routes.
Wear comfortable and or loose clothing that allows easy access to the area being treated.
Let your technician know of any medication changes or new skin sensitivities.
If the area being treated is in the bikini area or lower, please make sure to shower the day of the appointment and make sure the area being treated is clean. Exfoliating gently 1-2 days before is great and beneficial for preparing for treatment, but not on the day of the service. Shaving the intended area 14-4 days prior can make treatment easier and optimal for the best results. Doing this gets the majority, if not all, of the hairs in the same growth cycle, as well as giving the hair a more accessible length, given the potential density in that area. If you experience or have a moderate to low pain tolerance, it is highly recommended to consult your doctor about your treatment. Possible routes for pain management before treatment could be recommended by your doctor if needed. Popular pain management solutions are over-the-counter Acetaminophen and Ibuprofen, icing the area before and after, Numbing Creams, or, in some cases, prescription numbing cream from your doctor. Numbing alcohol is provided at the salon, but it is always best to consult your doctor as well.

How Do I Take Care Of Post Treatment?

Certain temporary side effects of electrolysis are to be expected and dissipate within 1-48 hours after treatment. Some of these effects look like redness in the treated area, swelling, bumps that do not scab and disappear within 12-48 hours, and sensitivity to the sun.
There are several different steps that we can take to reduce these effects, minimize them, and make you more comfortable with your post-treatment skin.
Heat and friction can irritate the area. Avoid hot baths, saunas, tanning, the sun, or pools for 24-48 hours. If you are going to be out in the sun, try to avoid exposing the area directly to the sun and use a high SPF sunscreen on the area. Avoid tight clothing, heavy lotions, and tanning as well.
Hygiene is very important before and after treatment. Make sure the area stays clean post treatment. Avoid using deodorant immediately after treatment in areas where it is applied. Keep the area clean, cool, and hydrated for 24–48 hours to avoid irritation, it is recommended. Immediately after, you can use soothing, fragrance-free products like Aloe Vera, Witch Hazel, or Bacitracin Ointment if needed.
Try to avoid intense exercise immediately after treatment. If you experience ingrown hairs, gently exfoliate 2-3 days before your service date, and start a regular, gentle exfoliation routine 2 days after your appointment.
